Berlin

Germany

Notes From Kevin

The Good:

1. Our AirBnB host was awesome and he even built his own Christmas market on the rooftop.

2. The Christmas markets! One had a sledding hill that was only missing snow and the other two we went to were downright magical. At the first one we sang along to Feliz Navidad and also met a really nice bunny (guy dressed in costume)! The last one had a skating rink and also a real life, human Santa go scooting through the sky at one point on his sleigh. We ate roasted chestnuts and sugar covered almonds while drinking egg punch, blueberry mulled wine, regular mulled wine, and baked apple punch.

3. The Berlin Eisbaren! By far the most fun I've ever had at a hockey game. I got my first souvenir of the trip at the game (a beanie). It had a European soccer atmosphere but with hockey.

4. Checkpoint Charlie, the Brandenburg Gate, Charlottenburg Palace, and the Victory Column were all very interesting. Instead of a typical park that most cities have, Berlin has a giant forest in the center.

5. We had amazing bulgogi burgers and mango curry!

The Weird: Why do they choose to drink pilsner when they are surrounded by so many amazing beer options???

The Bad: Nothing.

Overall Score: 10!
