Cologne

Germany

Notes From Kevin

There were Christmas markets all over the city and each of them was very unique. Heinzels Wintermarchen was huge and gnome themed! There was both an ice skating track and a curling rink. Unfortunately it was a little rainy while we were there and we were both a little under the weather so we never made it onto the ice.

Another highlight of the city was the chocolate museum, especially since it is operated by Lindt, which we would both argue is hands-down-not-even-close the best chocolate manufacturer in the world!

Fun Facts:

1. Cologne is actually from Cologne.

2. Hershey's made a chocolate bar designed to be an emergency ration for soldiers in WWII. It was made to taste only slightly better than a boiled potato to prevent soldiers from eating their ration until they really needed it.

Overall Score: Including Christmas markets-8.5, Without-7.4
